针刺手法
一般垂直进针0.5到0.8寸。老年人和儿童要特别注意进针深度不能过深。刮痧手法
使用水牛角、砭石或玉石材质的刮痧板，配合刮痧油或美容乳，从手掌向手指方向单次刮拭鱼际区域3-5分钟。刮痧时保持45度角下压，力度根据体质调整，老人儿童需减轻力度。穴位功效

鱼际穴最早记载于中医经典《灵枢·本输》，后来在《针灸甲乙经》《灵枢·经脉》《医宗金鉴》等古籍中都有收录。
《灵枢·经脉》指出经脉走向：进入手腕寸口部位，向上经过手掌大鱼际区，沿着鱼际穴走行。描述了穴位所在的经络路径。
《针灸甲乙经》记载了具体应用：①用于治疗霍乱引起的呕吐、胃气上逆等症状时，要配合太白穴一起使用；②治疗咳血症状时，需要先在鱼际穴进行泻法操作，再在尺泽穴进行补法操作。展示了古代配穴治疗的思路。
《医宗金鉴》特别提示：鱼际穴在古代主要用于牙痛治疗时才会选择艾灸法。
《灵枢·本输》：“荥者，热也。”
